Tonight I'm happy to welcome Brett Estrade webmaster of Patchlodge.com to the virtual guest chair. Brett is an avid collector and former Lodge Chief of Chilantakoba 397 who has used his skills as a computer programmer to build a website that caters to a specific need in the Boy Scout collecting community. Patchlodge.com serves as a virtual image gallery where you can host your Scouting memorabilia collections including listing your needs and traders. One of the key features is the ability to conduct trades using the site's image library. Brett will also explain how he has leveraged the Patch-L listserve to bring fresh content to the site via his bulletin board. I hope you will take the time to learn about this unique website that is totally built as a service to the hobby.

I've got a trifecta of great Scouting uniform shirts that sold recently on eBay Sure some of them have some embellishments like the MB sash for the best seller or the hat and leggings for the #3 listing. Its not very often that good Air Scout shirts sell on eBay so you can take a closer look at that baby blue by clicking the link.
I don't usually have the pleasure of inserting my own auctions into a Top 5 but this time I can take a little credit. Now my foxes didn't beat the clam or the thunderbird but at least I had a pair and that hand sometimes wins. The Daw-zu flap is a big sale so be sure to see what that single bid paid for.
There is no mistaking what drove up the price of the vintage OA auction seen below. I've had some of the ordeal felt on felt sashes before and this one was not in very good shape. Therefore, I deduce that the find in that listing was the 1945 printing of the ordeal ceremony book. Click on the link to see if you agree. The #1 item today was scooped up on a BIN for a pretty penny. Rounding out the Top-3 list was a DES award kit surprisingly not offered by my favorite seller.
So what exactly is the totem of the now merged lodge 395 Kowaunkamish? I checked on oaimages and the official answer is "symbolic figure". Regardless, this classic P1 issue sold for nearly $800 on a single bid Tuesday. I seriously thought about bidding on the 463 S1 since I have a collection of first solids and have fond memories of trying to trade for 463 flaps at the 1989 National Jamboree. The #3 item completes the OA sweep for the day having sold in a BIN.
The seller of this extremely rare 1948 hardback version of the OA Handbook claims in the listing that its one of only 10 in existence. Now I checked the seller out and it doesn't look like he normally sells Scout items. The bidding was pretty intense with five bidders going over $1k and four of those being snipe bids. The #2 selling item was in the Hot Finds and also had some strong bidding. The 1935 poster would look great in my new Scout room but I don't know about paying more than $300 for some wall art. I'll save that $$ for cloth.
